High Quality EMS provider Altronics Manufacturing Inc. of Hudson NH announces that it recently received its official International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) registration from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.
ITAR is a set of United States government regulations that controls the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the United States Munitions List. The regulation restricts sensitive information and technologies only to be shared with U.S. Persons, unless special approval is acquired. To qualify for ITAR registration, Altronics has to insure strict record keeping, and distribution procedures are followed to allow the company to manufacture electronics assemblies for sensitive military applications.
The addition of of ITAR adds to Altronics already impressive certifications which include the ISO-9001-2000 Quality System Standard, and J-STD-001 Class-3 soldering standard.
Operations Manager Michael Lafleur indicated that "Altronics was recently approved as a World-wide J-STD-001 Class 3 supplier to a New England Military prime contractor, and ITAR will insure that we satisfy the more stringent requirements of customers such as these."
Altronics already has years of experience with assembly for the military sector, the ITAR specification now allows the company to do work in cases when design drawings and products require additional confidentiality. Altronics protects all their customers' proprietary designs and right to privacy, and preparing for ITAR has made them even more sensitive to their non-military customers confidentiality requirements.
